Cuqui’s Love resists the advancing pull of Wilson Ridge to win the Clásico Wiso G.

The four year old imported Cuqui’s Love resisted the pressure from the favorite Wilson Ridge in the last meters of the seventh event this past Sunday, October 30, to take on the win at the 23rd edition of the Clásico Wiso G. at Hipódromo Camarero.

Skillfully run by Edwin Castro, Cuqui’s Love left the gate to fight from the start, placed at the lead of the pack when they entered the farthest stretch, while being pursued by Mind Ruler and Nora’s Cat, who became the main rivals in speed. After leaving them behind before entering the last stretch, was able to unlink from the group, and was placed in the front until Wilson Ridge moved to second half way the last stretch.

Castro was then forced to use all resources making Cuqui’s Love resist the pressure from Wilson Ridge, who advanced to be placed only by half a length 1:53.82 for 1,800 meters.

Cuqui’s Love is a property of the Carlos Oyola stable and trained by Juan Luis Díaz.

The Pick-6 payed $4,537.45 with six winners and $44.70 with five. The winning selections were 2 – 3 – 3 – 12 – 4 – 1.
